Abstract:
The article deals with the properties of the notion of human dignity in Aristotle’s ethics. Aristotle refers to dignity as the exclusive property of a free, clever and self-sufficient person. The article reveals the multiplicity of factors in the development of dignity as a generic, spiritual moral and social phenomenon. We claim that human dignity, according to Aristotle, is based on personal liberty, intelligence, virtue and ability to adhere to one’s principles
