Abstract:

The article examines the marginal discourse in the novel «Tuula» by the famous Lithuanian writer, poet, essayist J. Kuncinas. The author of the article has found out that the novel is a multilayered work of art in which the poetics of the insane and the erotic is intertwined with the philosophy of vagrancy, the mechanism of transforming a man into a tramp and the psychology of a lumpen. J. Kun?inas’s underdog can preserve human dignity in totalitarian society.
