Abstract:

The article describes the history of the introduction of information technologies in the national economy of the Soviet Union, the appearance of the discipline «Information technologies» in the educational establishments of the USSR. Objective reasons for the incompetence of many middle-aged people and the necessity of computer literacy education among them are shown. The concrete ways of solving this problem are proposed.
