Abstract:

The article is devoted to the philosophical explication of education as a social-cultural phenomenon that performs the function of ontologizing a person in culture. This approach makes it possible to correlate the strategy of education with the analysis of the fate of modern civilization. The global cultural and historical stages of education development are highlighted and characterized. Understanding them allows us to interpret today´s deformations of education as symptomatology of the end of one world epoch in the history of culture and education and the beginning of another. The ascertaining of the manifestations of the global crisis in written education is associated with the construction of new meanings of education, addressed to the future of culture.
