Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to analyze the specifics of the relationship between the processes of education and self-education. The article proves that the processes of education and self-education are the processes of human development as a social being. Self-education is an alternative to social education, as it is a permanent individual spiritual process that takes place on the basis of creative and critical perception of social information. Education is a temporary social process that provides for the principles of «inclusion» of a person in the team in the process of socialization and learning based on imitation and trust in the authorities. The coincidence of the processes of education and self-education is possible only on the basis of democratic and humane principles.
