Abstract:

The article is devoted to the modern principles of the activities of the main parties in Nigeria - the Congress of All Progressive Forces and the People´s Democratic Party - and the connection of these traditions with the political culture of society. This culture not only influences the activities of parties, but itself largely de¬pends on it. The practice of political parties in Nigeria, based on laws that are largely far from even the norms of bourgeois democracy, contributes to the strengthening of a corrupt political culture in society and the willingness to accept parties not as ideologically connected groups, but as business structures.
